Production began in 1973 as a tunnel bottom. It was originally called the Little Hustler, then the L'il Hustler, and eventually just Hustler. In 1984 a V-bottom hull was made to fit the deck for the then-new APBA C-Production class where it ran very well, setting a straightaway recordA look at the tunnel hull on Todd Lindeman's '86 Hustler. for the class. Both versions were produced in very small numbers throughout the 1980's due to low demand. Over the years, more tunnels than V's were made.
