Mike Jones...1985 V-King with Mercury 150.

I bought my boat in the Dallas/Ft Worth area about 3 years ago.  I drove up there one weekend and picked it up.  When I first tested the boat it had (2) 25lb bags of sand under the bow. This was the first thing to go.  He had the jackplate all the way down 3" below the pad.  This made it a little hard to drive.  After I raised the propshaft to be even with the pad, and removed the sand it was drivable. I have recently purchased a 26 pitch Yamaha drag prop, Teleflex steering, Teleflex gauges, and Holly electric fuel pump.  Future plans are to put a 200hp Merc on the boat.  The current setup is a stock lower unit with a Bob's nosecone and lwp. The midsection has an offshore snout to make it sound a little tough. I have a jackplate with 6" of setback and the propshaft is even with the pad. The motor is a stock mariner 2.0 150.  The boat and motor are 1985.  I take the boat out mostly on the San Jacinto river on the weekends.
