Blue Wave Low Water Pickup

I have a 22ft Blue Wave Super Tunnel w/ 175hp Yamaha Vmax. Here is my problem today.

While running the boat in any kind of chop on the water the engine gets hot. Would a low-water pick-up installation help this problem and also would it hurt the engine while running in very shallow water for example the Texas Flats on the gulf?

You know getting the boat up on plane in about 10 inches of water is not uncommon.

Thank you,
Larry Weisinger

Larry,

Definitely go for the low water pick up. That way you can run at any height you want.
