Carolina Skiff Holeshot

Randy

I just bought a 2005 carolina skiff 1980 model with a 2005 yamaha 90 horse motor.

My problem is on take off, with motor trimmed all the way down it sounds like it is sucking air and it takes forever to get on plane. I took it back to dealer and they put a different prop on from 15 to 17 and it made no difference. I suggested they lower the motor one notch to the last hole. They said that was where they mounted all their motors. Any advice?

Try a planing plate on the cav plate. A local has a Carolina skiff here and we did just that.
