'79 Evinrude Reliability

Hi.  I'm looking into purchasing a 1979 hydrasport that has a 235 evinrude v6 motor.  The boat seems to be in very good shape (for a 79) However, the engine is what worries me.  It looks decent, but I've been told that the 235 evinrude engine is known for being a very problematic engine.  Could you please shed some light into this.

Thanks

These engines were very good actually. The problem is the boat/motor is over 25 years old. That is the only black mark on this one. Things are bound to occur on an engine of that age. Not major, but expect little things to fail over time.
