HST Bounce Problem

I have an 88 Hydrosteam HST,  Iím running a 96 Venom around 275hp 10inch jackplate with the bullet lined up even with the bottom of hull. Problem is when its almost tweek, it wants to start bouncing and canít hold a steady speed. Iíve run choppers & a Hoss. Could the weight of the engine be causing this problem? Iím stumped...

Lower the motor 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch to carry the boat better. The boat will run over 100 with the gearcase centerline below the bottom, but if it cannot carry the boat, it will never happen. A good sign is if you have a pretty good amount of steering torque on the wheel. Go lower until it is only a minor pull and the boat will take a set and the rest will happen by itself.
