Prop Question

I have a 20 foot Alumaweld Super Vee LT.  I bought it to run on the Kenai River, which allows only a 35 horse engine.  I purchased a 2003 Honda 50/35 four stroke and have de-tuned it to a 35.  Problem is that the boat barely gets on step, and the speed leaves a lot to be desired.

I have tried a four blade 12 pitch Honda prop and a four blade 11 pitch. The latter gets me up better than the former, but I'm wondering how I can get both more thrust and speed.

Any help?

I feel that no matter what prop you try, you won't see much of anything. My advice is to put the 50 hp parts back on. No one has to know and you will see a real gain. With 35 hp to work with, you're beating a dead horse. Give it the power!
