Mercury 150 Optimax Mods

I am currently running a 2004 Mercury Optimax 150 with a Tempest Plus 23 pitch prop on a 2004 Ranger 185DVX. The boat is stock. I am not running a jackplate. I am only reaching mid to upper 50's by GPS. With everything out of the boat and a full fuel tank it will reach 63mph. Are there any mods I can do to pump up my speeds to upper 60's with a fully loaded boat? I'm not worried about voiding my warranty.

Unfortunately, with the Optimax, there is nothing you can do to mod the motor. With a little set-up, you may see a couple of mph. Short of putting a 200 on it or starting with an older XRI 150 or XR6, there is not much available to you. To convert your present opti to something more like the opti 200 2.5 litre would cost more than it is worth. Sorry for the bad news.
