Trim Speed

I have a 1988 Venus with a 225 Merc on back. Both the Power Lift and the factory engine trim seem slow. I have two new 800 deep cycle batteries to share the burden. Is there anyway I can drill a passage to increase the fluid flow to speed up the lift process?

Sounds like you have the low volume pumps. You could get new stern drive pumps which are much faster but they cost a lot. We tried 0 W 30 Mobil One oil and it helps a little. We also ran the pumps on 24 volts. That really works but itís complicated and you need 2 batteries. Make sure the electric motor part of the pumps you have are perfect and try the thin oil first as it the cheapest.
