Hi Randy. A little follow up on my 140 V-King. I admit I was a little skeptical about using a 22 laser11. Didnít think it would pull it so put on a 20 laser first. Not good 7000+ at 55mph on Speedo. I am pulling the 22 now but the best I've seen on speedo is 60 at 6500+. My questions are as follows: I have a chance to get a 1985 V150 with a melted piston [oil problem]. Being it's apart can you suggest any minor mods? What kind of setup would you recommend? Height-prop-etc? When I said it had a 4.5 setback I must have had a bad tape. It's actually 5.5" with a 1.5" wedge. Hope you can help me out. Thanks in advance for my questions here and previous also. mecanic
the 140 just needs to be lower on the transom. Put it down
3/4" or 1 mount hole and you will lose RPM and gain speed.
setup for the 150 is pretty much the same and a 26" Laser II will run
great. Try to get some GT150 heads for the motor. Other than that I'd
leave it alone. 27 SRX prop is also good. I'd "86" the 1.5'
wedge though as the motor has a limited trim range.
