Which Motor for V-King?

Randy, my 82 v-king is ready for rigging. Took a year. I have my choice of a mid 90's 225 promax merc,or a late 80's 2.6 yamaha 225. Both rebuilt, low water pickups, relieved exaust, and light weight flywheels. Using a 5" setback, propshaft even with the pad, which motor is the fastest.

To be honest, both can be made to run about the same. The set-ups will be a little different, but 90 plus is in the cards. The Yamaha is going to be more expensive to repair and the gearcase bearing carrier is the weakest point. Keeping that in mind, if one is a much better deal, that would make me go for it.
