Valero YT Bowrider Prop

Hi, Iím looking for advise on what prop / set up to run on my 88 Valero YT.  It has a slightly warmed Ď88 2.4 Merc 220 Laser EFI with a Land and Sea hydraulic jack plate and a Sportmaster lower unit.  I'm running an OMC SRX 29" from DAH @ 6500 rpm.

Is this prop OK?   How high should I run the jack plate, do I need more setback?   The torque back to the steering wheel is pretty high.

That prop should be very good for your rig. The high steering torque tells us that you are too high. Drop the motor down at least 1" to start. If the torque goes away, you have found the spot that the boat likes. Remember, go just high enough that the torque is very minimal. You can expect RPM to drop and speed to go up. To start, put the propshaft 2" below the bottom. You might go up 1/2" or so, but not much more. If the torque starts, just bump it down. Your setback is fine, just watch the height. Almost any other prop will be within a couple of mph, so stay with the RX for now.
