Valero YT Re-power Question

Hi Randy,

I've had my yt for 4 years and think you probably know more about it than I do.

My trusty Suzuki 1987 150 has a CDI failure.  It is an expensive repair.  I can get a 1994 225 Suzuki for about $2000 and was thinking that the weight was the same and the additional power would be helpful.

What would you advise?

Jeff Davis

Go for it as it will be the most fun you ever had with the boat. I owned a Valero YT bowrider with a 225 Yamaha on it. It'd run over 80 and was just what it needed. You'll need some bigger props though!
