150 XR2 on a Vector

Hi there! I'm the owner of a 1982 vector with a mercury 115 inline six. Iím currently looking at a 1986 mercury 150 xr-2 with power trim and tilt. It also has a 20 inch shaft. Would this motor work on my vector. My father recently passed away and it was his dream to put a 150 on this boat. I would like to make that dream come true! Would the prop I currently have work on this 150. Iím running a chopper prop. Couldnít tell you the pitch of the prop. Thanks again for the info.

The XR2 will work well on the Vector but you will probably need to give it more inches of pitch in the prop. Dual steering will be a must for the V-6, along with a foot throttle. Give it a shot.
