Longshaft 225 on a Vector

I have a vector, which I am planning on putting a 225 Evinrude looper on. The first problem is that it needs a transom out in it. What is the easiest way to go about this? Cut the cap at about the tip of the wings on the boat or remove the whole cap? Also how fast should I expect to see out of this setup? The motor is a long shaft 25" in which I have a custom setback built to correct the difference plus the motor is completely stock with quite a few hours on it. How big of a prop do I need? I donít need to go very fast I would be happy with 75 or so. Will I see it you think? Thank you in advance.

Zack,

A 225 and a 25" model at that is a very bad idea for a Vector. If it stayed right side up, I'd be surprised. The leverage it would generate will most likely cause you to wear it as a hat. Find a standard shaft 150 or 175 and go 75 mph safely.
