Viper/Johnson V4 Performance

Randy,

My name is Travis.  I own a 1985 Viper with a 1979 Johnson 140 crossflow.  I am currently running a 14x27 cleaver and running in the 71 to 72 mph range.  Do you think there would be a better prop to run? And what kind of rpm am I looking to turn, as I am turning 6000rpm right now. I am mainly looking for top end speed and am willing to dish some money for a good fast prop. What kind of speeds should I be looking for?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks for your time.

Travis,

You are running pretty well already. Unfortunately, props for the V-4 in the 27-28 pitch range are hard to find. Call Performance Propeller in Soddy Daisy, TN and see if one of their new performers can be fit.
