My Name Is Corey Pepper and I have a 91' VooDoo
with a 4 inch manual jackplate and a 40hp Mercury 2 stroke 4 cyl. I need
to know where to set the motor in relation to the bottom of the boat and
the chunk cut out of the bottom. I also need to know what prop and where
to get it. I tried a 10 3/8 X 14 vengeance last season and over reved
the motor, I think I may have blown
to here of the possible blown motor. I doubt it was from high rpm's. You
can turn the 4 cylinder Merc's at 6600 plus and they work fine. I'd start
with the propshaft at 2" or so below the bottom and find a 15 pitch
prop. You'll probably need the prop modified to see the ultimate speed but
even stock it should work fine. Never been to Toronto so can't help there.
Try and find a 50 or 45 Merc used. You should find one cheap and the
block/powerhead is the same.
