Voyager XT with 280 EFI?

Randy, I'm considering putting a fresh rebuilt 1999 Merc 280 EFI on my 1999 Voyager.  I am curious how this would perform as compared to my present 1999 ProMax 225hp sportmaster, with a 5" CMC jackplate.  I have 26", 28" Merc choppers and a Powertech 25" 4-blade props to select from.  If the speed gains are significant I would be comfortable with the trade offs in "turn-key" operations.  I am running a little over 80 mph with both the 26" and 28" props.

Your 225/Voyager is running great now. The 280 will barely give you 3-4 mph as the Voyager peaks in the mid eighties. You would only see 90 plus if it is run super light and set up for top end only. Everything else will suffer.
